Carmen Bush teaches 9th and 10th grade English at OSA. She holds a BA in English from CSU, Chico and an MA in English Education from UC Berkeley, where she studied empathy development and writing instruction in urban high school classrooms. Previously, she served as theatre department director at El Cerrito High School, where she taught playwriting and improvisation and directed theatrical performances. She has worked as a teaching artist for Berkeley Rep and as Head Girls counselor at Sugarloaf Arts Camp. Her courses will focus on social justice, critical literacy, rhetoric, and inquiry.
