Music is one of the most rewarding of all human endeavors, and the faculty and students in the School of Instrumental Music share a deep love for their art and a common desire to achieve excellence. The School of Instrumental Music offers a wide spectrum of subject areas, in both Classical and Jazz, with an overall emphasis in performance. The curriculum provides basic preparation for careers in Music and undergraduate study, and is designed to provide a balanced education in the many facets of musical experience.  Our faculty offer instruction in all areas of performance while teaching courses in theory, music history and literature. The goal of the IM department is to develop each student’s musical and intellectual potential in order to prepare them for the collegiate and professional world after high school.
