City of Berkeley council issued, OSA junior Zachary Fernandez, a "City of Berkeley Proclamation" for his accomplishments in the arts, by being on Project Runway Junior and showing at New York Fashion Week.

Production Design Senior, Jorge Alvarez has been accepted into the Fashion and Textiles program at Central Saint Martins University of Arts in London.  The school has a long list of notable alumni, including artists Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and PJ Harvey.  Alvarez, a first generation American (his mother is El Salvadoran/ Palestinian and his father is El Salvadoran/Spanish-Basque) has made all of us proud with this impressive accomplishment.

Digital Media Senior Gets Full Ride to Princeton through the Questbridge Program!

OSA Senior Leanna Nguyen won a scholarship to Princeton University through the QuestBridge National College Match, which connects outstanding students from low-income backgrounds with admission and full four-year scholarships to the nation's best colleges. Scholarships are worth over $200,000 each. QuestBridge partner colleges include Amherst, Brown, Emory, MIT, University of Nortre Dame, Stanford and 30 other top-tier schools

OSA student, Kehlani, received a Grammy nomination and was showcased on Forbes' 30 under 30.


Seventh grade Theatre students, Sophie Eckber (Jane Darling/Lost Boy) and Max Lewis (John Darling) are performing in Peter Pan at Berkeley Playhouse from October 29 through December 6. They are both featured in the Barrie cast (youth roles are double cast). Also performing is Branden Thomas, an OSA graduate, as Pirate Mullens. Information may be found here.

OSA student on Project Runway!

Zachary Fernandez, 11th grade OSA student from the School of Production Design, is competing on Project Runway Junior! Last year he was on a related reality show called Threads. But this time, the show is the real Project Runway, complete with a full season of episodes and Tim Gunn as the mentor(!), the only difference from the regular show is that all the contestants are between the ages of 13-17.
