- Parent Teacher Students Association (PTSA)
The Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a volunteer organization of parents, guardians and faculty at Oakland School for the Arts (OSA). Our mission is to support the artistic and academic programs for the students of OSA through volunteerism, fundraising support, communication and enhancement of school culture. To join the PTSA click here.
- Connect with Konstella
The PTSA uses Konstella as its communications tool to keep families in the loop on weekly news, school announcements, calendar items and more. Konstella also allows parents to communicate directly with each other or with groups of parents, and connect with parents with similar interests through the use of “Social Groups”. Konstella newsletters are compiled by PTSA volunteers and are not an official communication tool of OSA.

- Discipline: The goal of the OSA discipline program is to ensure that student behavior supports an environment in which academic achievement and artistic excellence can flourish. OSA staff will communicate these expectations regularly at student meetings and assemblies. Our application of “discipline” is not simply intended to deliver punishments for breaking rules, it is founded on the practice of community building, self-assessment, and self-discipline. The assumption is that most minor disruptive behavior and consequences are handled by the classroom teacher, and that students are referred to Armando Castro when they do not meet classroom expectations and procedures.
