Hiring FAQ

Do I need to complete tuberculosis (TB) screening/testing?

All employees prior to starting work at OSA must provide proof of negative TB, either through a risk assessment or TB test, prior to starting employment at OSA. OSA is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment free from TB to support student learning.

Do I need to complete background screening?

All employees need to complete a Livescan background check via the California Department of Justice prior to employment.

Are there any required training sessions at OSA?

Mandatory trainings include Sexual Harassment Prevention and Mandated Reporter trainings. These trainings are offered in person during Professional Development week at the start of the school year. Employees hired mid-year will need to complete virtual training unless proof of recent completion can be provided.

Do I need a teaching credential to teach at OSA?

Yes, certificated positions require a current teaching credential. For more on credentialing, visit the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing website here.
